The World Health Organization (WHO) has listed vaccine hesitancy—the delay in acceptance or refusal of vaccines despite their availability—as one of its top 10 health threats facing the world in 2019, along with things like climate change, air pollution, the flu, ebola, HIV and antibiotic resistance. This is important for you because vaccination is one of the greatest public health triumphs ever, and one of the biggest advantages of living in the developed world and in modern times. Don’t underestimate its importance. Vaccinate your kids (and yourself).
