Iron from mom helps seal pups dive

Lactating Weddell seals help their babies dive by transferring iron from their livers into their milk, even though this means the moms themselves can’t dive as deep or for as long. Weddell seals are notorious divers– they can stay under for an hour and half–because they have so much iron. Read more here.

Anti-vaxxers really found their voice during the COVID-19 pandemic, and their rampant dissemination of dangerous, panic-inducing misinformation threatens to set back public health and cause needless deaths around the world. Read more here.
