MRKH syndrome is the name of a unusual medical condition that affects about one in 4,500 women. A child born with this syndrome may appear and feel like a completely normal girl until about the age of 16. In younger adults, systolic pressure is usually higher in men than women, but women do have an increased tendency toward hypertension when they are pregnant.
