Keeping romance alive for your and your partner can prove to be difficult during quarantine. It can be doubly difficult when you’re pregnant and can’t drink, are more tired, and are usually more irritable than usual as well!

We have put together some fun quarantine date ideas for you and your partner to try at home and keep the spark alive!

Movie Night

There are still movies to be watched. Have a weekly movie night and cuddle next to each other when the kids go to sleep. Take turns picking out a movie and get some popcorn or favorite treat you enjoy.

Cookout

Challenge your partner to a cookout. Make each other’s favorite meals and set the table nicely. Light some candles, spritz some perfume, and dim the lighting! Dress up and have an old fashioned date in your own dining room. Sometimes, keeping it simple is what helps conversation and connection flow.

DIY Spa Night

Create your own couple spa night. Have a nice bath with the bath bombs and bath oils and soak in together. Enjoy some music and light those candles. Take turns giving each massages and have a little bit of conversation. Better than a spa and less expensive.

Take Out

All the restaurants may be closed for dining in but you can still dine out. Try a new restaurant and get it to go. Look to support your local small eatery and order take out or grab a gift card for a later time if you like. You can even grab a coffee or a tea to go and just hang out in the car and talk. You still get some quality time with your spouse and you don’t have to spend time getting dressed up to grab your food or drinks to go.

Indoor camping

Gather all of your old camping gear and assemble in the living room or basement (wherever you have the most privacy). Then, concoct a meal of smores, hamburgers, hotdogs, or whatever camping food you love to eat! If sitting on the floor is too difficult for you in later trimesters, you can easily line the floor with mattresses, cushions, and pillows, making a tent-sized bed for fun!

Car Date

What’s a car date? Well, just a simple date in the car.  Grab some take out or get some of your favorite snacks. Go for a picnic or depending on your location go watch the sunset or do some stargazing.

Board game Fun

Pull out old board games from your childhood and play your favorites. Even if the games don’t live up to your memories, it is always fun to learn more about your partner’s childhood favorites! If you have a favorite card game, play that as well (strip poker counts!).

Book club

Create a book list that you and your partner will read together. Once a week convene to speak about what you liked and what you thought about the book in question. Make sure to create a layout that mimics regular book club. Finger sandwiches and tea are encouraged!

Cocktail Class

While you cannot drink when pregnant, many bars are offering free cocktail classes as well as mocktail classes. Join the fun and create delicious lemonade mocktails to sip while enjoying a date night dinner.
