One of these things is not like the other
Babies understand not only the meanings of words but the relationships between them and the categories they fit into. And they can do so well before they can verbalize those words. New work demonstrates that babies categorize words when they are as young as six months old. This new awareness may help in the earlier diagnosis of language difficulties. Read more here.
