Pregistry’s Friday Recipe: Homemade Barbecue Sauce

This homemade sauce is so easy (and delicious) that we’re betting you’ll never go back to the bottled stuff again!

You only need a few simple ingredients to make this recipe – and while we’ve shown it here on chicken, it is perfect for anything you want to put it on!

We love it on ribs, fish (especially shrimp), and even tofu!

And it makes a generous amount too, so make sure you freeze any leftovers!

Homemade Barbecue Sauce:

  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1/3 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup Dijon mustard
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/4 cup molasses

Place all ingredients in a small saucepan and bring to a simmer, stirring constantly. Continue simmering till sauce is reduced to 1 1/4 – 1 1/2 cups. Remove from heat and let cool to room temperature.

Divide sauce into two bowls, using one for basting as you grill and the other for serving.
