CHOCOLATE DURING PREGNANCY

Eating healthy during pregnancy is an important step in helping your baby develop and reach his or her maximum potential. However, some pregnancy meal plans can leave expecting moms craving sweets. Nine months may seem like an eternity if you are a chocolate lover and are trying to avoid some of your favoritefoods and desserts while pregnant. Somewhere along the way, you may wonder if it is safe to indulge in chocolate. Ask your doctor if you like chocolate and plan on consuming it regularly. Having chocolate in moderation is probably fine for most expecting moms, but in some cases, your doctor may recommend avoiding it. Read more here!

EXPERT REPORT

ALTITUDE SICKNESS DURING PREGNANCY

Altitude sickness is a set of symptoms that range from mild to life-threatening and that develop as a result of a person being exposed to lower than normal pressures of atmospheric oxygen (O2), during and after ascent to high altitude. This generally means more than 2,500 m (8,202 ft). It could happen if you are in an inadequately pressurized aircraft, but usually it is the result of ascending to mountain locations, without giving your body adequate time to acclimate the higher altitude. Read our blog on The Pulseand, available now, our extensive Expert Reportwritten by one of our doctors!
